Our Doctor
Dr. Jonathan Wasserstein, OD
Dr. Wasserstein has participated in ten missions to impoverished areas of Honduras, Nicaragua, and Mexico, personally examining and giving glasses to thousands of people who would not otherwise be able to afford them. Most of these missions were with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH.)
Dr. Wasserstein is conversant in Spanish. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. To keep up with the latest advances in the field, he takes over twenty-five hours of continuing professional education every year. He sees patients four years of age and up. Every year since 2014, Dr. Wasserstein was selected as one of New Jersey's favorite kids' docs by the readers of New Jersey Family magazine. Dr. Wasserstein is married to pediatrician Allison Gurey Wasserstein, MD of Summit Health. They have two sons. As an optometry student, Dr. Wasserstein was a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. In addition, he won several awards, including the Max Cohen Award for outstanding volunteer commitment to community service, the Billie Lyons Award for distinguished service to the college community, and the NYSOA Auxilliary Award for outstanding service to his class. |
